Dr. Maxwell Hughes is Adjunct Professor at Drexel University, where he teaches, via the internet, and consults on the management of IT and on business process analysis and simulation. This follows a 33-year career with Pfizer Inc. Dr. Hughes introduced computing into Pfizer’s research division. As Vice President, Administration for Pfizer Pharmaceuticals, he managed the establishment of all the staff functions: finance, systems, planning, acquisitions and HR. Dr. Hughes established, and was the first general manager of, Pfizer Medical Systems, which developed and marketed CT scanners worldwide. While VP -Systems and Communications he developed and used an issues-based methodology for IT Planning.
In business process management Dr.Hughes has constructed system dynamics -based simulations in domains that include: marketing, pharmaceutical production, sales-ordering and fulfillment, ROI of IT investments, clinical trials, HR, e-commerce order fufillment, development and patent protection of pharmaceuticals, PC and server reselling. Clients include: Amazon.com, AMGEN, AMP, Pfizer, Rohm&Haas.
