David SilversteinDavid Silverstein is CEO of Breakthrough Management Group (BMG), the world's fastest-growing performance improvement training and consulting firm. As CEO, Mr. Silverstein drives BMG's strategic direction with a focus on continuously improving existing performance excellence models while constantly searching for the next generation of business excellence. A seasoned business leader, executive mentor, master black belt, innovation coach and six sigma deployment coach, David helps companies develop and execute performance excellence strategies, as well as measure their success. His work also spans several domains outside of six sigma, including his "new core competencies" for executive leadership and BMG's unique Total Performance Excellence model.

Mr. Silverstein has authored numerous articles on the topics of Six Sigma Strategy and Implementation, Innovation, Total Performance Improvement and Executive Development. Mr. Silverstein's comments and written articles on topics including "Too Many Chiefs" and the rising trend towards using Six Sigma in Sales, Marketing, Advertising and PR have appeared in over 100 publications including the Wall Street Journal, Business Finance Magazine, Robb Reports Worth Magazine, Black MBA Magazine, Investors Business Daily, CRM Magazine, ComputerWorld and Chief Learning Officer. Mr. Silverstein has been featured in Business Week, "The World According to TRIZ", the lead story in the publications' Innovation section. Mr. Silverstein has also appeared on CNN's "Squeeze Play" business television program speaking about "Too Many Chiefs", what he calls "a disturbing trend in corporate America" -- as an alternative to educating current executives, more corporations are hiring Chief Risk Officers and Chief Ethics Officers to fill in the gaps.

More recently, he has turned his attention to innovation and business strategy and the identification of cutting edge technology solutions. In his book, INSourcing Innovation,, he talks about how companies need to focus on developing new skills and core competencies, with innovation being at the top of the list. More importantly, INSourcing Innovation talks about how to drive innovation.

Aside from his numerous publications, Mr. Silverstein is involved in a number of speaking engagements on those topics. As a highly regarded pubic speaker and author, Mr. Silverstein shares his vision around the globe where he has shared the stage with notable figures such as Jack Welch, Larry Bossidy, Jim McNerney and Steven Covey.

Mr. Silverstein holds a dual B.S. in mathematics and physics from Ithaca College. He also earned an M.B.A from George Washington University. Mr. Silverstein is a member and supporter of many organizations and activities outside of Breakthrough Management Group including the Young Entrepreneurs Organization, a volunteer group of business professionals, all of whom are under 40 years of age whose mission is to support, educate and encourage others to succeed in building companies and themselves.
